Our Life Lately

Nick and I did some traveling over spring break. We left from Jackson and drove to Chattanooga which was our first stop. We spent several days there exploring the city, and we fell in love with it immediately. As we drove into downtown on a Sunday afternoon, and there were people everywhere. We've never seen such a clean, new and active downtown. We were particularly fond of any area called, The Northshore, which is basically the area across the Tennessee River from the downtown area. It is a rejuvenated area with new shops, restaurants and remodeled older homes. It is made up of young professionals and the more "artsy" crowd. We found our apartment in Northshore, which is about 3-5 minutes from Nick's job downtown.

When we left Chattanooga, we spent time with our families in both Nashville and Memphis. We really cherish our time with our families since we don't get to see them all the time. We celebrated our birthday's in both places (which means double birthday cake)! While we were in Nashville, Lindsey took us to Spring Hill to see the house she and Neil just bought. We love it, and we're so excited and proud for them. While in Memphis, Nancy and Mindy took us downtown to St. Jude to see where they work. I really enjoyed that, and it's nice to be able to picture where the work.

Now that we are back in Jackson our life has gotten pretty busy. We stay really busy between school and work, especially with exams in just a few weeks. We are also trying to spend lots of time with our friends here before we leave.

The rest of our free time is spent packing! This is what we have done so far. My mom has said before that Nick and I are a lot alike except that Nick is an "extreme" version of me. For example, if I'm a little hard-headed than Nick is stubborn, or if I drive fast then Nick drives like a race car driver. You get the idea. Anyway, before I moved to Jackson in '05, I began packing really, really early, but Nick has now been packing for our move to Chattanooga since early January. I can promise you that he is responsible for all those boxes! I keep thinking he's going to run out of things to pack and go after my toothbrush and other essentials! He's just a little excited about moving, but I am too, and I'm so thankful that he's so helpful!

That's pretty much everything that we have been up to the last month or so! I hope that helps fill you in Angela :)

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! See, it wasn't too bad! I love the fact that Nick has packed so much already. I was the same way. I think it's easier to deal with in little doses as opposed to all at one time.

Yay for loving Chattanooga and for finding an apt--I know that is a relief. And, I'm glad you enjoyed two birthday cake experiences. I bet you'll even get another one this weekend!

Glad to see things are going well, and I'm so happy for y'all. Good luck with exams--talk to you soon!

Thanks for the update! I'm glad to hear things are going so well and I'm so excited for you two. It is so much fun being married and moving to a new place as a married couple. People will get to know you as Leslie Foster ... it'll feel wierd for a while but its nice. I love being Rebecca Kutz! Well, I'm really proud of you both! Can't wait to see pictures of the new apartment!
